May We Be Well: A Community Of Practice series will take place at SOKY Center. This month-long series will be facilitated by Dr. Lacretia Dye. During each session, participants will become a holding space for each other, connect across lines of differences, and explore the themes of accountability and liberation.
At this introduction workshop, a limited number of Yung Pueblo’s book — How to Love Better: the Path To Deeper Connection Through Growth, Kindness, and Compassion — will be available and distributed while supplies last, along with a reading guide for the series.
Follow-up sessions include the following:
- Wednesday, May 7, 5 – 6 p.m. | Affinity group #1 (white bodied persons) – Affinity sessions are race-based meeting groups where ALL are welcomed, yet, an emphasis will be on the unique contextual experiences of a particular group.
- Wednesday, May 14, 5 – 6 p.m. | Affinity group #2 (BIPOC/people of the global majority)
- Saturday, May 17, 2 – 4:30 p.m. | Women’s Symposium (at the Bob Kirby Branch Library) featuring various community groups.
- Sunday, May 18, 4 – 6 p.m. | Affinity group #3 (BIPOC/people of the global majority and white bodied persons combined)
- Wednesday, May 21, 5 – 6:30 p.m. | Suncatcher workshop with Sarah Wickman Freeman
